As a rule, most advertising agency folks are not artist themselves so they have traditionally relied on 'in-house' art staff, small contracting design firms and independent artists, such as myself, to do this pre-vis art. But now, AI companies such as Midjourney have taken over this market, drastically hurting independent artists such as myself. Why, because the AI subscriptions are dirt cheap and super fast, despite the often wonky results. Worse, is that AI does this by stealing from millions of artists such as myself. When I got my art degree 37 years ago, I felt confident that I was in a career that would easily support me for a lifetime. Now I feel replaced by a cheap app someone can run on their smartphone. Lately when I am contracted to do original art, it's often to clean up the wonky art that the AI has generated, not to create the original art myself.

Training data is stolen art with extra steps. These AI tools are not protected by law. The makers of these AI tools decide to use poisoned data. If THEY put uncompatible files in their software it's on them, like if YOU crash your car into someones home. Your not going to sue the home-owner for the dammages done to your car.
